Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Wandsworth in respect of its activities as a provider of transport and moving services. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, transparently and with integrity, and we oppose all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in our operations and supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Wandsworth provides local and regional removal and transport services. Our operations rely on a combination of directly engaged workers, subcontracted drivers, vehicle hire companies, fuel suppliers and providers of equipment and ancillary services. We recognise that certain parts of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour abuses, and we therefore take proactive steps to minimise any risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chain.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all individuals working for or on behalf of Man with Van Wandsworth, including employees, agency workers, subcontractors, suppliers and other business partners. Any form of forced, bonded or compulsory labour, servitude, deceptive recruitment or exploitation of vulnerable individuals is strictly prohibited.
We expect all those we work with to share our commitment. Where we identify behaviour that is inconsistent with this policy, we will take immediate and appropriate action, which may include ending commercial relationships, reporting concerns to relevant authorities, and supporting affected individuals in accessing help and protection.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We aim to work only with suppliers and subcontractors who uphold high ethical standards. As part of our procurement and onboarding processes, we consider the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking and seek assurances that our partners comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws.
Our expectations of suppliers include respecting freedom of movement and choice of employment, paying at least the applicable minimum wage, ensuring working hours are reasonable and lawful, prohibiting child labour and clearly communicating employment terms in a language workers can understand. We reserve the right to request evidence of compliance and to terminate relationships where suppliers are unwilling or unable to meet these standards.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
We are committed to monitoring our supply chain and improving visibility of labour practices over time. Where proportionate and appropriate, we may carry out audits or assessments of higher risk suppliers and subcontractors, including review of documentation, site visits or structured questionnaires focusing on recruitment practices, identity checks, working hours, pay and working conditions.
If any non-compliance or indicators of modern slavery are identified during an audit, we will work with the supplier on a corrective action plan with clear timelines. Persistent failure to address concerns or any confirmed instance of modern slavery will result in the suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
We seek to ensure that managers and staff who engage suppliers, subcontractors or recruitment partners are aware of the risks of modern slavery and how to identify potential warning signs, such as restriction of movement, retention of identity documents, signs of intimidation, or workers who appear controlled by others.
Man with Van Wandsworth encourages anyone who has concerns about possible modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chain to speak up. Concerns can be raised verbally or in writing to a manager, a senior member of the team or an appointed point of contact responsible for compliance matters. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and, where appropriate, investigated promptly and impartially.
We will not tolerate any form of detriment or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Where necessary, we may refer matters to law enforcement or other competent authorities and cooperate fully with any investigations.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Man with Van Wandsworth is committed to continuously improving its processes, guidance and oversight to address emerging risks in the transport and logistics sector. We will review this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, our operations or risk profile.
As part of the annual review, we will consider feedback from staff, suppliers and other stakeholders, the outcomes of any audits or investigations, and developments in best practice. Where appropriate, we will update our policies, training materials and supplier requirements to strengthen protections against modern slavery and human trafficking.
This statement has been approved on behalf of Man with Van Wandsworth and represents our ongoing commitment to respect, protect and uphold the rights and dignity of all individuals connected with our business.
